The Entrance object was created as part of the Make Art at Your Own Risk class led by artists Thalia Hoffman and Manar Zuabi as a part of the International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg in August 2024.
The location of the sculpture is the main entrance to the Academy building in the Hohensalzburg Fortress.
We are forced to balance between saving boundaries and destructive boundaries. We set boundaries in which we can save and perish at the same time. And our head is also a boundary.
Our buildings and our fortresses are also models of our consciousness and the boundaries that are constructed in it.
Boundaries separate the greater and unite the lesser. And beyond the boundaries there is always something else. No matter how much we want to hide from life on the other side, to cut off connections, it will always make itself known. The more we close ourselves off, the more unexpected the appearance of the unknown may be. Communication will always be a chance for contact and understanding.
