Drawings
Pastel, pencil, sanguine, and ink on paper, 29.7 × 42 cm
2026
The series of drawings, presented at Galeria Domie in Poznań in 2026, was created as the culmination of the Traces of Rhythms project, an artistic research initiative exploring the phenomenon of Highland (Góral) dance in the Podhale region.
The drawings explore movement as a record of the tension between the body, time, and memory. The figures, inspired by the rhythm of dance, dissolve and overlap, losing the clarity of gesture and the stability of identity. The work shifts attention away from folkloric imagery toward what is fragile, repetitive, and marginalized. The relationships between the figures create a space of intimacy and desire that eludes established hierarchies and social norms. As a whole, the series attempts to recover absent narratives through fragmentation, rhythm, and repetition.
