The artist's romantic vision captures the creation from the need of the heart. It can be said that the heart, literally and figuratively, keeps the artist alive. The artist is therefore obliged to maintain his heart with the money he earns. Any person interested in continuing life must supply the movement of the heart. Every moment and every heartbeat counts, without which the chain of life and the chain of exchange denominated in money are broken.
The animation depicts a scene consisting of a dark room with a red heart and a money counter in the bottom right corner that changes with each beat.
The work is an attempt to understand the fundamental theme of value and exchange of time into money for the artist's practice. The cost of providing the heart movement for this film is 0.00101 PLN per beat, at a monthly cost of 3,500 PLN - the average cost of living for an expatriate in Poland. The duration of the work is limited to reach the minimum unit of Polish currency - 1 penny (pol. Grosz).
The work was presented at the exhibition "Schowek" at Galerie Zone of contemporary art (pol. Zona sztuki aktualnej) in Szczecin on 28 February 2024.
